Gunfight in Jessore kills one

A youth, who was an accused in Ansar member murder case, has been killed in a ‘gunfight’ between two rival gangs in Pachbaria area of Jessore sadar upazila on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Milon, 30, son of Momin Ullah of the same area.

OC of Jessore Kotoali Model Thana Illias Hossen said the clash broke out between the two local gangs over establishing supremacy in the area around 2:00am.

Both the groups opened fire at each other, leaving Milon dead on the spot.

Police is suspecting Milon to be a member of one of the conflicting robber groups as five different cases were pending against Milon.
