Unilever Community Health Care Service begins in Ctg

A two-day health-related programme titled ‘Unilever Community Health Care Service-2017’ began at Char Rangamatia Government Primary School in the city’s Chandgaon area on Friday.  


Unilever, one of the leading multinational companies, has organised the programme. Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin inaugurated the health care service as the chief guest.


Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Abdus Salam, Unilever Bangladesh Limited General Factory Manager Md Ruhul Kuddus Khan, CCC Panel Mayor Jobayeda Nargis Khan, Chattagram Maa-Shishu O General Hospital Vice-President Syed Morshed Hossain, Chattagram Diabetics Samity Treasure Md Shahabuddin and local Ward Councilor Md Ajam were also present at the programme among others.


The school Governing Committee President Shamsul Alam presided over the programme conducted by Mohammad Walid Chowdhury. 

 

Mayor Nasir Uddin, in his speech, lauded the initiative of providing health care service to distress people by the Unilever under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.


 He hoped that the service will remain continued in future so that poor people can get treatment free of cost.


Thanking Unilever for their initiative, he assured all out support from his side.


CDA Chairman Abdus Salam called upon higher authority of the Unilever to set up a general hospital at Mohora for general people of the locality.


Mentionable, Unilever has been providing several health care services, including general health check-up, mother and children medication service, eye check-up and ECG-diabetes test in association with Chittagong Ma Shishu O General Hospital, Chittagong Diabetics Association and Lions Eye Hospital for last 11 years free of cost in the locality.
