Call to create Tk 200b housing fund

The real estate and housing industry is set to get a boost, thanks to the positive steps taken by the government and commercial banks this year after three years' stalemate.


The sale of residential flats increased by 30 to 40pc in 2016, after the commercial banks of the country brought down the interest rate to a single-digit recently, and the same scenario is expected to prevail throughout the year.


Vice Chairman of REHAB and Chairman of Chittagong Regional Committee Abdul Kauiam Chowdhury made the remarks at a press conference at Chittagong Club auditorium today.


The association is organising a four-day REHAB Fair 2017 from February 8 to 11 with the slogan of "Dream Housing, Green Country and Red-Green Bangladesh" at the Hotel Radisson Blu View Chittagong.


REHAB director and chairman of REHAB Fair Standing Committee Shakil Kamal Chowdhury, REHAB director and co-chairman-1, Chittagong regional committee Md Omar Faruque and REHAB director, co-chairman-2 of Chittagong regional committee Md Didarul Hoque were present at the press conference.
