Top 10 cos grab 30pc turnover on DSE

Top 10 traded companies grabbed nearly 30 per cent of the premier bourse's total turnover Monday while IFAD Autos topped the chart for the three consecutive sessions.


Turnover, the important indicator of the market, stood at Tk 6.31 billion on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on the day, which was 32 per cent lower than the previous day's turnover of Tk 4.78 billion.


IFAD Autos, LankaBangla Finance, Square Pharmaceuticals, Shahjibazar Power, Fu-Wang Food, City Bank, Mercantile Bank, Simtex Industries, Saif Powertec and Prime Bank were the most-active shares in terms of value on the DSE.


Of them, share prices of seven companies advanced up to 6.02 per cent, two faced correction up to 1.28 per cent while one remained unchanged.


According to data available with the DSE, some 2.24 million IFAD shares were traded on the day, generating a turnover of Tk 337 million, which was 5.34 per cent of the day's total turnover value.


The auto mobile dealer's share price hovered between Tk 149.40 and Tk 151.90 before closing at Tk 150.10 on Monday, remaining unchanged over the previous session.
